OUR VISION

Lights are the backbone of urban infrastructure and one of the most important public assets. Lights are also an important consumer of energy, accounting for 19% of the global electricity use, and costing India $10 billion each year. Furthermore, roughly a third of all Asian street lights still run on a 1930s standard, resulting in massive energy waste and CO2 emissions. It made us wonder—what if we could make sure that there’s always just as much light as needed, and precisely where it is needed? Could we phase out the obsolete street lights that turn our cities into ceaseless energy consumers? Could we offer an alternative way of lighting up the streets, without ever compromising public safety?
Over the years, we have developed and perfected the technology that allows this, and even more. We began by inventing an advanced street lighting solution. We moved on to developing the comprehensive sensor networks that serve as a building block for Smart Cities of today and tomorrow.
